Lupe Ontiveros plays Angelia Amonte, Celia
Amonte's mother-in-law, in "Passionada." A film and TV star since the 1970s, the
Texas native has appeared recently in such movies as "Chuck and Buck,"
"As Good as It Gets" and "Mi Familia." A veteran of 36 movies, she
played the assassin in "Selena," and had roles in "The Goonies," "El
Norte" and "California Suite." In 2000, she won the National Board of
Review's Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in "Chuck and
Buck."
