One of Sunday's
performers was Mighty Sam McClain, who also is a Grammy nominee and Handy Award
winner. He was named Real Blues Magazine's "Soul/Blues Male Entertainer of the
Year" in 1997, 1998, and 1999, and was recently inducted into the Louisiana
Blues Hall of Fame. Mr. McClain reached stardom during the 1960s, but by the
'70s was left homeless. He fought his way back to the top of his genre and has
brought his career full circle. According to Rolling Stone magazine, Mr. McClain
is "the Great Torchbearer of Soul." (Please click on any thumbnail to view a larger version)
