Who & Why

Since that day back in 1975, when I purchased my first 35mm camera, I have loved the art of still photography. I loved it so much, that in 1985, and with 19 years into another career, I decided to make a change. It turned out to be a wise decision, as now, I really love what I do. Looking back, I could not have made this career move without the advice and support of my family.  Thank you Joyce, Heather and Nick!  In 2006, after a 25 year career in photojournalism, I retired from the Standard-Times, and I am now devoting my time to freelancing and following my passion for artistic expression through photography.

The reason for this web site is two-fold. I want to display my work for other people to see, and I want everyone to see the geographical area where I live and work. It is truly a beautiful coastal location. Most of my photographs are taken in SouthCoast Massachusetts, mainly in the New Bedford area. The Greater New Bedford area, as it is referred to, is comprised of the City of New Bedford and many surrounding rural towns. Also, because Cape Cod is right at our doorstep, I will be including photos from this beautiful area as well. Please log on again, as I will be changing and/or adding photos every month or two, and trying to improve the overall appearance of the site.

Thank you for visiting my photo gallery!
